First day of Co-op

We had our first day of co-op today and the girls had a wonderful time. Today was a meet and greet day where we met newbies to the co-op (me being one of them) and the kids got to see their teachers and classes.

Katie Ann's classes include Concoctions (a fun class where they make different things like silly putty, glue and learn about the different things that make up these things). They learn that before they come out of the box ready to use there is a process to making them). She also has a Considering Gods Creations which is where they talk about the things that God made such as the trees and plants etc... Her last class is a games class where they learn to read and follow instructions.

Cassie has Math is Fun for First Graders. Here they learn grade level math concepts while learning to make it fun. Her second class is Picturing America where they will learn about different things (historical buildings, The Pledge of Allegience , though most of them already know it, and the song God Bless America). Her last class is her favorite. It is the art class.

They are going to have a great semester. I had a good time too. Each parent has to either teach or help in each class and the nursery. I help in the PE class 1st period and then in the Picturing America class 2nd and the 3rd is my break time where I go into the ladies class. We sit around and chat, read our Bible. It is a great time. Then after we all either go out to the playground (we meet at a large church) and have a picnic lunch or during bad weather we can meet at the McDonalds. It is a wonderful time for fellowship and learning with both the children and the moms.
